Phoenix

The flame out of Britain

“Do not just stand there, let me handle it. Backup or no backup, I am going in.”

THE STORY OF PHOENIX

Phoenix, real name Jamie Adeyemi, is a Radiant from the Peckham area of London. His pyrokinetic powers let him shape fire in every form: walls of flame, incendiary balls, and even the ability to rise from his own ashes, like the mythological phoenix he takes his name from.

Before joining the VALORANT Protocol, Jamie was studying at a drama school in Peckham, where his talent on stage was matched only by his impulsive temper. His powers surfacing during First Light turned his life upside down: a suspension from the school, most likely caused by an accidental fire, put him on the protocol's radar, and they recruited him as their 9th agent.

Inside the protocol, Phoenix is known for his overflowing confidence and his head-first approach to a fight. His flamboyant personality hides a frustration, though: the hierarchy keeps a lot of information from him. His first solo mission in Venice ended with a spike detonation he could not stop, but he made up for it the next day in Rabat, where he met his Omega Earth counterpart for the first time.

HOW TO PLAY PHOENIX

01
Use Run It Back for the entry frag

Pop your ult from a safe spot before you rush a site. Even if you die, you come back with info and possibly a free kill. Always place the marker out of enemy line of sight.

02
Master the Curveball trajectory

Learn to throw the flash with the right click at the right moment. A well placed Curveball gives you the edge on a corner peek. Careful: you can flash your own teammates too, so always call it out on comms.

03
Heal yourself with your own flames

Hot Hands and Blaze both heal Phoenix on contact. After a close duel, drop your molly at your feet or walk through your own wall to top your health back up before the next fight.

THE VALORANT DUELISTS

ROLE: DUELIST

Masters of aggression and space creation. Eight agents built to go in first, break the enemy line and land the frag that swings the round.

EVERYTHING ABOUT PHOENIX IN VALORANT

Phoenix is one of the most iconic agents in Valorant and one of the first duelists available, going back to the closed beta in 2020. His fire-based kit, a wall of flame, a curving flash, an incendiary molly and a resurrection, makes him a versatile, self-sufficient agent, as accessible to beginners as he is dangerous in experienced hands. A star of the official cinematics, Phoenix embodies the raw energy and the boldness that define the duelist role in the Valorant meta.

Phoenix remains a solid pick in ranked, with a win rate above 53%. His self-sufficient kit, flash, wall, healing molly and a resurrection ultimate, lets him entry frag effectively without depending on his team. After the buffs in patch 9.10, including a rework of his healing passive and adjustments to Blaze, Phoenix went back to being a competitive pick on maps with tight corridors like Split, Ascent and Pearl.

Run It Back is one of the best entry ultimates in the game. Pop it from a hidden corner, then rush a site aggressively. Even if you die, you come back at full health at the starting point. The trick: use it to scout enemy positions and pass the info to your team. Be careful to hide your marker well, because enemies can kill you as you respawn if the spot is exposed.

Phoenix, real name Jamie Adeyemi, is a British Radiant from Peckham, in London. A former drama student, his fire powers appeared during First Light. Recruited as the 9th agent of the VALORANT Protocol, he is the main character of the DUELISTS and DUALITY cinematics, where he discovers the threat of Omega Earth. Despite his laid-back attitude, Phoenix is frustrated by the secrets the protocol hierarchy keeps from him. He has a strong friendship with Jett and KAY/O, and is trained by Sage.
