Reyna is a Radiant from Mexico, forged by pain and vengeance. Her vampiric powers let her drain the life energy of her victims to heal, turn intangible or even go invisible. She is the most selfish agent on the roster: all of her power rests on her ability to get kills.
Before joining the VALORANT Protocol, Reyna went through a deep trauma tied to Radianite. Her younger sister, named Lucía in community theories, is thought to have been the victim of experiments run by Kingdom Corporation. That event fed a visceral hatred of the organization and of everyone who exploits Radianite without weighing the consequences.
Inside the protocol, Reyna is respected but feared. Her apparent contempt for non-Radiants and her conviction that Radiants are superior to ordinary humans create friction, notably with Killjoy and Brimstone. Her relationship with Sage is particularly complicated: their philosophies, life drain against healing, sit at opposite ends.
Reyna casts an ethereal eye that nearsights any enemy who looks at it; it can be destroyed.
Reyna consumes a soul orb left by an enemy she killed to quickly regain temporary HP.
Reyna consumes a soul orb to become intangible for a short moment, and invisible as well if Empress is active.
Reyna enters a frenzy, sharply increasing her fire rate, weapon swap speed and reload speed; every kill resets the duration.
Unlike the other duelists, Reyna depends entirely on her frags. Without a kill you get no heal and no Dismiss. Work on your aim before anything else: that part is not negotiable.
On a site entry, favor Dismiss after a frag to reposition safely rather than standing still to heal. Repositioning is worth more than the HP.
Reyna's eye goes through solid surfaces. Throw it from behind cover to nearsight positions without ever exposing yourself, then swing with the visual advantage.
Reyna is one of the most popular agents in Valorant and the most played duelist in the intermediate and high ranks. Her unique kit of soul draining and invulnerability gives her exceptional carry potential, enough to turn a round around on her own. Since her release in 2020 she has been the go-to pick for players who bet everything on raw mechanics and aggression, a playstyle as risky as it is rewarding, and one that keeps her essential in the Valorant meta.
Reyna is the only duelist whose every ability depends on her kills. Each kill drops a Soul Orb she can consume to heal past 100 HP or to turn intangible. In Empress, every frag resets the duration of the ultimate and Dismiss makes her invisible. A player stringing kills together on Reyna can genuinely take over a whole round without ever being tradeable.
The key to countering Reyna is playing crossfires and trading as a team. If you go down, your teammate has to retrade immediately, before Reyna can pop her Dismiss. Her Leer is destructible (100 HP): a quick shot on it cancels the blind entirely. And in Empress, reveal utility like Sova's drone or Fade's Prowler is precious for hunting her down while she is invisible.
Reyna, real name Zyanya Mondragón, is a Mexican Radiant whose life-drain powers are tied to Radianite. Her hatred of Kingdom Corporation is rooted in a personal tragedy involving her younger sister, who is thought to have been the victim of experiments. That vengeance drives everything she does inside the VALORANT Protocol, where she remains a formidable but unpredictable ally.
