Sage

The fortress out of China

“I am both your shield and your healing. Do not waste either.”

Sage, a Valorant agent
Sage

THE STORY OF SAGE

Sage is a Radiant from China, whose healing and structural control powers make her one of the most valuable agents in the VALORANT Protocol. Her command of Radianite lets her heal her allies, raise crystal barriers and even bring the dead back to life.

Before joining the protocol, Sage ran humanitarian missions in areas devastated by the effects of First Light. It was during a disaster at Kingdom that Brimstone spotted her and recruited her for her unique support abilities in the field.

Inside the protocol, Sage is seen as a maternal, reassuring figure. Her wisdom and her calm under pressure make her an emotional pillar as much as a tactical one. The weight of resurrection sits heavily on her, though: bringing an ally back is never without consequence.

HOW TO PLAY SAGE

01
Save your res for the rounds that matter

Do not automatically res the first teammate who goes down. Favor resurrections on post-plants or on retakes, where the extra body is what decides the round.

02
Use the wall creatively

Barrier Orb is not just there to block a corridor. Use it to boost yourself onto unexpected high ground, or to cut a site in half during a retake.

03
Slow Orb is an information tool

Throw it into the forced paths to hear the enemy. The distinctive sound of slowed footsteps tells you exactly where they are and how many are coming.

THE VALORANT SENTINELS

ROLE: SENTINEL

Experts in defense and area lockdown. Seven agents built to hold a site, watch the flanks and make the enemy pay dearly for every meter they take.

EVERYTHING ABOUT SAGE IN VALORANT

Sage is one of the most iconic agents in Valorant and the most played Sentinel since the game launched in 2020. Her healing, her area control and her resurrection make her an essential pillar of any team composition, from Iron all the way up to the professional level. Her kit makes her the only agent who can bring a teammate back to life, a mechanic that changes the economy of a round and the dynamic of a competitive match completely.

Sage remains one of the most versatile Sentinels in Valorant. Her Healing Orb and her Resurrection give her a value no other agent can reproduce. In the current meta she is particularly strong on maps with tight choke points like Bind or Split, where Barrier Orb and Slow Orb control enemy timings perfectly.

To get started with Sage, focus on placing Barrier Orb defensively to cut rushes, use Slow Orb in site entrances to stall pushes, and heal your teammates before healing yourself. Always keep your Resurrection for the decisive moments of a round instead of spending it at the first opportunity.

Sage, real name Ling Ying Wei, is a Chinese Radiant recruited by the VALORANT Protocol for her exceptional Radianite-based healing powers. Before joining the organization, she worked in the areas hit by First Light. She has close ties with several agents, notably Phoenix, whom she considers reckless, and Reyna, whose life-drain powers are the opposite of her philosophy of healing.
